On a never-ending quest to offer the pinnacle of personalization, each JAMAH bag is named for someone who inspires me.

While it is not unusual for fashion brands to assign memorable names to their designs, at JAMAH we go deeper. I write tributes to my loved ones that explain how their best characteristics are reflected in their namesake bag. (I cannot wait to share more about my namesake bags later in this series!)

The question I get asked more than any other is: “When are you going to design The Nancy?”

I always respond with the same laughter-filled words: “I am not going to create a tribute to myself! I name my bags after my loved ones to acknowledge the many gifts that they bring to my life.”

Each time I write a namesake tribute and reflect on the gifts that my friends bring to my life, I also think about what gift I hope to bring to them. I always land on happiness.

So in 2022, after two decades of naming my bags after people who inspire me, I created the bag that represents how I aspire to inspire them: The Happy Bag!

The Happy Bag is a large tote with a lot of space to carry a whole lot of happy!

It can be ordered in JAMAH’s brightest leathers, so as always to embody cheer.

I designed The Happy Bag, like all JAMAH bags, to be infinitely customizable. On the front of the tote, there is an embossed circle that combines the word “happy" with JAMAH’s motto “be who you are” and three additional words that each customer chooses to represent the three things that most inspire them.

So what three words did I put on my Happy Bag?

Perseverance. Resilience. Smile.

I have been able to achieve true happiness in my life because I have persevered through what one might call unspeakable tragedy.

When adversity strikes, I choose to be resilient. I choose to NOT be defined by my experiences. I choose to focus on all I am so fortunate to have. I commit to step through the pain and use it to inspire others. I choose resilience.

And through the darkest moments of my life, I smile, OFTEN and from my gut. I know that for the moment there is a smile on my face, it is impossible for me to  be sad.

I believe that happiness is a choice. In offering The Happy Bag to my customers, I am urging them to make the choice to be happy.
