JAMAH x GUNTHER WERKS: ANOTHER LAP TOGETHER

Gunther Werks Project Tornado.

In 2018, a groundbreaking collaboration between Nancy Gale, designer of luxury bags at JAMAH, and Peter Nam, CEO of the renowned automotive company Gunther Werks, set a new precedent in the world of luxury cars: any collector of an automobile as elegant as a Gunther Werks Porsche should demand nothing less than a bespoke JAMAH bag to fit its frunk.

After Nancy and Peter were introduced by mutual friend Parisa Fishback in 2018, Nancy designed The Frankie Porsche Edition as a companion to the Gunther Werks 400r remastered 993, released in a limited edition series of 25 cars. This collaboration inspired the launch of the JAMAH Motorcar Collection and was featured in Modern Luxury.

Four years later, as Nancy solidified her plans to attend Monterey Car Week to witness the debut of the bespoke handbag she designed for car collector Bill H. Lyon and his wife Nichole, she picked up the phone to let Peter know she would be at Pebble Beach; another JAMAH and Gunther Werks collaboration was soon launched. Gunther Werks would be debuting a Porsche 911 remastered at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, and Peter asked Nancy to craft a one-of-a-kind design that distills the car’s elegance into a JAMAH bag.

The resulting weekender is crafted from an exquisite ivory alligator skin and framed by the actual vibrant orange leather featured in the car. The side panels present a meticulously-crafted honeycomb quilting detail that is carried over from the Porsche. The bag can be carried or worn with an optional strap that emulates a racing stripe. Although this design was created specifically for the limited Project Tornado series, it inspired a new addition to the JAMAH Weekender line: The NAHM, named for Gunther Werks founder and CEO Peter Nam.

Just as they did the first time they worked together, Nancy and Peter have delivered a collaboration that epitomizes luxury for the most discerning car collectors in the world, many of whom heard about JAMAH’s Motorcar Collection in the September 2022 issue of the Robb Report.
