IN TRUE FASHION
In True Fashion we stand behind NFTE and encourage you to follow the trend in 2010 . . .
In True Fashion will build self-esteem and work ethic in American youth through hands-on participation and promote the value of products “Made in the USA.”
"Every young person will find a pathway to prosperity." This is the vision of NFTE (Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
As the new decade starts with hope and happiness, it is time to band together and make this year one of supporting our country’s young people with like-minded causes.
A great believer in NFTE's mission, JAMAH, designer of handbags, men’s bags, accessories and home pieces, is launching In True Fashion in February 2010. Together with NFTE we are able to bring to life a much-needed resource for building better futures in our community.
While NFTE achieves amazing success in reaching beyond the limits of the great challenges of life in low-income communities, In True Fashion will focus on overcoming the obstacles of the limitless boundaries of low self-esteem and the need to bring labor back to the USA.
High school students will explore their creativity through the In True Fashion apprenticeship program, which will include workshops with expert mentors, factory time and business planning. They will learn what it takes to run every aspect of a business from design and production to finance to sales and marketing.
Spearheaded by JAMAH, teams of students will compete to create a winning product that will be put into mass production and sold to the public as a new addition to the JAMAH Collection. Honoring cause and commerce, a portion of the proceeds will be designated to NFTE. Through the process students will cultivate their work ethic and a consciousness of their surroundings while they discover their inner talent. They will develop skills that will help build their self-esteem and learn what it means to give back. The beauty of the movement is its inspiration . . . promoting that what is truly fashionable is on the inside.
In True Fashion preserves and honors American craftsmanship. The personal empowerment gained from the In True Fashion experience and the appreciation for products that are made in the USA will positively affect generations to come. It is time to take pride in what it means to be “Made in the USA.”
Ultimately, established companies that manufacture products in the USA will be able to join as mentoring companies.
As the journey begins, In True Fashion is honored to become a vital part of NFTE’s Los Angeles office. The relationship is sure to be beneficial in nurturing young people of our communities.
We are excited to embark on our journey beyond Cause & Commerce. In True Fashion pays it forward enforcing Cause & Cause.
